An incredible mix of local and international world class climbers, skiers, paddlers, outdoor and environmental activists will come together at this year’s Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival (VIMFF), February 10th to 18th. The showcase promises to thrill audiences with live stories and films of adventure from all over the world. With presentations from big wall explorers, rock climbers, backcountry skiers, mountain bikers and wild river paddlers, this year’s festival will leave the crowd speechless. The 15th annual VIMFF will showcase the talents of those that dare to push the limits of climbing and exploration with those that wish to preserve our precious mountain environment.

This year’s line-up of guest speakers and films include John Harlin’s, “Swiss Borders”, Climbing/Base Jumping Night, Life on The Road, Ocean Traverses, Feat Canada, Aerial Night, Ocean Epics, Alpine Adventures, Genghis Khan Night, Tiger Night, Sacred Headwaters, Kayaking Night, Ski Show, Women Rock, Trail Running, Mountain Bike Night, Climb For Change Evening and much more.

The Vancouver Playhouse International Wine Festival, Canada’s premier wine show, will run from February 27th to March 4th, 2012. The Playhouse Wine Festival is one of the biggest and oldest wine festival events in the world. In 2012, the Theme Region will be Wines of Chile and Cabernet is the Global Focus. The Festival features a week of special events including the Bacchanalia Gala Dinner + Auction, wine seminars, wine minglers, winery dinners, and lunches and brunches at fine restaurants and hotels.

The Playhouse Wine Festival is produced by the Vancouver Playhouse International Wine Festival Society, which has three mandates: provide an informative, educational and entertaining wine experience for public and trade; be a premier marketing opportunity for the wine industry and Festival partners; and raise funds for the Vancouver Playhouse Theatre Company. Since its inception in 1979, the Festival has raised over $7.5 million to enable Western Canada’s leading theatre company to mount 229 productions and develop extensive community outreach and educational programs.
