There are several ways to make your vacation driving experience a good one. First, map out your route ahead of time. Estimate your time of arrival at each destination, allowing time for eating, sight-seeing, shopping, rest room stops, and extra time in case you get tired. If along the way, you choose a scenic detour, purchase a map from a nearby hotel or service station, or find the nearest tourist center to get the best, most reliable information. Drive friendly and courteously. When vacationing with other friends or family, take turns driving. And stop at the nearest roadside park, hotel, or safe location the moment you feel yourself getting sleepy. Also, be sure to stop for fuel long before your gas tank nears the empty marker. You never know if the next town has an open gas station. Always keep your car locked when not in use--even if you only plan to be outside your car for short time. Make certain you carry a good spare tire in your trunk, and bring a cell phone with you in case you get stranded.

Make a skeleton for your crew
Most of you would think twice about celebrating Halloween with a "sleepover" in a cemetery, but in Mexico, that's exactly what children do. They aren't braver than you, they just know they have nothing to fear from the people buried there.
